Tom couldn't explain what happened next.
Something about Wednesday's warm laughter, her sparkling eyes, or her heavenly lavender scent--something he couldn't quite define--captivated him.
His hands gripped her firmly at the hips, pulling her close. Wednesday didn't struggle. Instead, she stopped laughing, and Tom saw the twinkling light in her eyes vanish, replaced with something else, something heated--glowing and vibrant with need. Hot, steaming, scorching desire churned in his belly.
The feel of her hips under his hands drove him mad. He took a deep breath, laced his fingers in the loops of her jeans, and enjoyed the sensation of having her body close to his.
He should back away. He drew her nearer. She came willingly. He shouldn't kiss her. He was her employer. They didn't have a future together. But how could he resist her? She was so deliciously charming, and she had a great set of lips he wanted to taste. He couldn't wait to feel those lips against his.
"Wednesday," he murmured, gazing down into her upturned face.
"Dr. Anderson," she murmured back.
"Tom," he corrected.
"Tom," she whispered.
"I'm going to kiss you." His hands spanned her waist.
She nodded, giving a small gasp as he pulled her tight against him, lowering his lips to hers.
Wednesday melted like soft caramel against him, her arms reaching up across his shoulders, encircling his neck. His lips slowly played across hers, sweet, warm, and enticing. She responded beneath his touch, her lips hungrily opening against his. Wave after wave of desire flowed through his body, and he didn't want it to stop.
