Fictionwise Reader is a software application for Microsoft Windows PC and Pocket PC which allows viewing and printing eBooks.

The "Lite" version is a free, basic eBook reading solution that includes:

• Small "footprint" on your Pocket PC means more memory for eBooks and a simple download and install process. Only about half a megabyte on a PC, it downloads in only a few minutes even on a 56KB modem.
• Can display unencrypted Microsoft Reader eBooks, HTML, plain text, and Tiny Reader eBooks, as well as unencrypted or secure Fictionwise Reader format eBooks.
• If enabled by the publisher, the PC version may print Secure Fictionwise Reader eBooks, including the ability to print a range of chapters.

In addition, we'll be launching a "PRO" version soon with more features.

Download Fictionwise Reader Lite

For Windows PC Desktop To download and install the Windows PC version of Fictionwise Reader Lite, follow these steps: Make sure you have a supported operating system: Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP. Download the installation executable. Choose the .exe or .zip file. If your browser offers to OPEN the installation executable, click to open it. If not, save the executable to your hard drive in a place where you will be able to easily find it, such as My Downloads. Use Windows Explorer to find the downloaded executable and double-click to open it. Follow the installation instructions carefully. Installation normally only requires a minute or two. Using Fictionwise Reader Lite: Download your eBooks. Fictionwise Reader only looks for eBooks in your "My eBooks" folder, inside your "My Documents" folder on your computer, so store your eBooks there. Open Fictionwise Reader. Select your eBook from the list and click Go. To Print: If your eBook is printable you may print the entire eBook or a range of chapters. To print the entire eBook, select FILE from the menu at the top, then Print... To print a range of chapters, select the FILE menu, then Print Chapters... You will be prompted to click on the starting chapter, then after clicking you will be prompted to select an ending chapter. All chapters selected, inclusive, will be printed.

For the Pocket PC Handheld To download and install the Pocket PC version of Fictionwise Reader Lite, follow these steps: Make sure you have a supported operating system: Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP. Make sure your Pocket PC handheld is in its cradle. Download the installation executable. Choose the .exe or .zip file. If your browser offers to OPEN the installation executable, click to open it. If not, save the executable to your hard drive in a place where you will be able to easily find it, such as My Downloads. Use Windows Explorer to find the downloaded executable and double-click to open it. Follow the installation instructions carefully. Installation normally only requires a minute or two. Using Fictionwise Reader Lite for PocketPC: Download your eBooks to your PC. Move your eBooks to your Pocket PC: With your Pocket PC in its cradle, open the "ActiveSync" software from your Desktop or Laptop computer and click on the "Explore" button within the toolbar. Double-click on the "My Pocket PC" icon. Open the "My Documents" folder. Drag-and-drop your eBook from the Desktop's "My eBooks" window (or from the folder where you stored your eBook) to your Pocket PC window. ActiveSync will automatically begin copying and converting the eBook to your Pocket PC. Open Fictionwise Reader on the Pocket PC. Select your eBook from the list and click Go.

For Encrypted Fictionwise Reader eBooks

• Register Your Fictionwise Reader Key: To read encrypted eBooks in Fictionwise Reader format, you must first register your "Fictionwise Reader Key" before downloading the eBook.
• To do this, first install the software on your PC, Pocket PC, or both.
• Then find your Fictionwise Reader Key in the "About" section of the Fictionwise Reader.
• Next, go to your Fictionwise Bookshelf, click on UPDATE MY PROFILE, and click the "Secure Fictionwise Reader" link. You can enter your Keys on that page.
• Then download your eBooks. Note: The key is case-sensitive and must be entered exactly as it appears in the Fictionwise Reader. Copy/Paste is recommended if available.
